Easter was April 1st, but is the promise of Easter merely seasonal? No, it isn’t, according to my colleague, Van Driessen. Writing for the March 30, 2018 edition of thedailystar.com. Van reminds us of the overwhelming love that transformed the lives of early Christians. He shares some healings that are convincing evidence that this healing Love of God is still present and operating in our lives. Need a little inspiration? Read on:
“The promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off…” (Acts 2:39), said the Apostle Paul some 2,000 years ago. The promise he referred to wasn’t narrow or time-bound, it wasn’t a religious dogma or a doctrine restricted to a particular group of people. For Paul, it was a spiritual grace that enabled people of all nationalities, backgrounds, and ethnic groups to recognize their true nature as children of God.
Paul acknowledged that he himself had been a “persecutor” of Christians. But “by the grace of God I am what I am,” he went on in his letter to the Corinthians, pointing to the overwhelming love of God for all humanity that he felt had transformed his life.
For Christian Scientists, this is a promise that resonates with special meaning at Easter. We see God’s love not only as a grace but as an unchanging spiritual law or power operating today, just as in Paul’s time. This law of Love still lifts and transforms lives. It still brings practical healing….
